Leona R. Duckett

Leona Duckett, 95, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Leona, formerly of Endicott and recently residing in Syracuse, was predeceased by her husband, James; parents, Jonah and Johanna Morris; and her three brothers and eight sisters. Leona is survived by her loving children: Dennis (Catherine) Duckett, Elkton, MD; Regina (Thomas) Davis, Syracuse, NY; Peg (John) Orzel, Whitney Point, NY; Mary (Louis) Gelatt, Endicott, NY; Beth (Gary) Zimmerman, Syracuse, NY; and Patty (Chris) Hotalen, Matawan, NJ; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Charles Reardon; and several nieces and nephews. Leona was employed by the Village of Endicott, Becker Law Office and as a secretary at Seton High School, Endicott. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Endicott. Leona enjoyed the many fun times with family, playing bridge, doing counted cross stitch, crossword puzzles and baking the best chocolate chip cookies! She will always lovingly be remembered for her patience, generosity and the strength of her faith. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 am from Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Saturday from 9 am until Mass time at 11 am.
