Linda Lee Barnfather went to be with the Lord on 1/11/24 after a very short and hard fight against cancer. Linda is survived by her husband Gary of 28 years, her sons Michael (Cathie) DeLuca, Adam Barnfather, and daughters Melissa (Will) Stock, Julie (Walt) Fedroff, her six grandchildren who are very special to her; Maximus Deluca, Ryan Fedroff, Anthony DeLuca, Ella Fedroff, Noah Stock, Ethan Stock, her twin brother Dennis Lewis (Donna), her sister-in-law Lynne Bertoni (Mike), many cousins, nieces and nephews (whom she adored), and her very dear friends. Linda was born March 22, 1949, to Alton Lewis and Anne Donovan Lewis. Linda knew from an early age that she wanted to be a nurse. She was admitted to Syracuse University in 1967 where she obtained a BS in Nursing. Linda began her nursing career with UHS Wilson Hospital where her entire career of just under 50 years evolved. Linda returned to school later in life and obtained her degree of Nurse Practitioner. She touched the lives of many through her work at Binghamton University as a clinical instructor at the Decker School of Nursing. Her passion for mentoring and teaching her students how to care for those most in need brought her joy. Many of those whom she taught provided bedside care during her hospital stay. We saw firsthand the impact she had on those she supported throughout their professional careers. Linda’s smile lit up the room. She loved with ferocity, and she would go to the ends of the earth to be there for someone in need, to show up for important events or even the everyday things. She held space for those she loved before that even had a definition, she provided guidance when here were lost, reassurance when you were weary, and held you up when you could not go another step. She and Gary gathered their families and friends in their home where beautiful memories were made, love was grown, and plenty of laughs were had. Linda loved the beach, traveling with Gary, Lynne and Mike, and her friends on many adventures across the nation. She loved life and made each moment matter. She was thoughtful and kind, she was up for anything and always had a smile on her face. Her life touched the lives of so many. Her earthly presence is no longer, but her spirit and love live on through each of us that loved her.
