Louis A. Christina, the last surviving child of Anthony and Rose Christina, died on December 9th, 2013, a few days after a severe heart attack that left him in a coma. The family will receive visitors Thursday afternoon from 3 to 4:45 p.m., followed immediately by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 306 Odell Avenue in Endicott, New York. Mr. Christina is survived by his wife of 59 years, Emily M. Christina, of Endicott, New York; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Renee Christina of Greenville, South Carolina and Tryon, North Carolina; his beloved grandchildren and their partners, Dr. Kerry Bullerdick, M.D., and Dr. Nancy Hancock, M.D., of Lusaka, Zambia, Africa; Lindsey Kyler and Alex Brightman, of New York City; and Ryan and Brenna Sheffield, of Asheville, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edith Christina, brother-in-law Bernard Motichka, and brother- and sister-in-law Harold and Doris Montross; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Lou was an avid golfer, and a former Navy Chief Petty Officer of seven years’ duration. Mr. Christina had been a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Endicott, New York since birth. He was an extraordinarily kind and good man.
