Lucy Zampi

Lucy Zampi, life-long resident of Endicott, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, two weeks shy of her 101st birthday. Everyone who knew her experienced her warmth and gentle nature, and she embraced everyone she met with genuine hospitality. Her home was not only filled with love and joy, but with the never-ending stream of great Italian food, not the least of which were her Easter bread, homemade sauce and pasta and her world-renown lemon cookies. She was a pillar of St. Anthony of Padua church where she was a member of many church organizations, and in her later years, served on the church council. Lucy was also the premiere espresso maker at Judy’s Café.
After the passing of her parents, Maria and Dominic Settilotti, and with the untimely passing of her beloved husband, Sam, in 1984, she continued to live independently and happily in her home on the North Side, enjoying her many special friends and her extended family of St. Anthony’s. Most of all, she loved her family, the center of her life, who will miss her deeply: her sons Robert and Richard, her daughters-in-law Patricia and Fannie, her seven grandchildren, Cori, Amy, Joanna, Jason, Jeff, Chiah and Keinan and her thirteen great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 pm Friday, July 5th at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Friday from 11:30 am until Mass time at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses be offered at St. Anthony’s in her memory.
