Lula Packs, of Endicott, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2017 surrounded by family at the end of an extended battle with diabetes.She was deeply devoted to her family and friends, and her grand dog, Theo. Her favorite pursuits included travel and tennis, and she enjoyed regular trips to Cape Cod and Scottsdale, Arizona. Lula is predeceased by her parents John and Koula Karedes of Mistra, Greece and Endicott, NY. She is survived by her beloved husband Nicholas J. Packs of Endicott, longtime owner of Endicott Florist, son Michael Packs, current owner of Endicott Florist; son John Packs of Weston, MA, daughter-in-law Marion Packs (Bartle), and grandsons Nicholas, James, and Christopher Packs; son Stephan Packs of Kensington, MD, daughter-in-law Patti Murakami, and grandsons Andrew and Justin Packs.Lula is also survived by her twin brother Louis Karedes of Endicott, nephews and nieces Louis Alexander, Eugenia Nichols (Alexander), Margo Alexander, Alexis Alexander, Cheryl Hutin, Piper Olsen (Hutin), John Karedes, and Kimberly McHugh (Karedes) and their spouses and children. Affiliations include: Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Vestal, NY; Ladies Philoptochos Society, Endicott Girls Club Board of Directors, Kiwanis Queens, and Harpur College, Endicott, NY.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 11 at 10 am at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Vestal, NY. Visiting hours are Friday, February 10 from 4-7 pm at Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, NY. Those wishing to express sympathy in her memory may make donations to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Vestal, NY or Endicott Boys & Girls Club, Endicott, NY.
