Marcella “Marcey” Monico

Marcella A. Monico, age 87 passed away November 13, 2021, with her family at her side after a long illness.
Marcey was predeceased by her husband of 34 years John E Monico in January 2021. Her parents, Sophie and Casimer Janicki, a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Pat Cuda and brother, Daniel Janicki. She was also predeceased by one daughter, Deborah A Ingraham and two sons, Edward D Paradysz and Gerald J Paradysz. In addition, she was predeceased by two grandsons, Douglas C Shepardson and Brett M Shepardson, and a great granddaughter who entered this world too soon, Isobel Kinsley.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine (John) Varvaro and Shirley (Roger) Holmes, a son-in-law Richard Ingraham and daughter-in-law Tina Paradysz. Three stepsons, John Monico, Edward (Linda) Monico and Thomas (Mary) Monico. Two stepdaughters, Bette Ann (Jerry) Gaube and Mary Therese (Larry) Ostanek. Between both families, she is survived by 25 grandchildren and a whopping 47 great grandchildren.
Marcey was a retired lab technician with UHS Wilson Hospital. She enjoyed going to Tioga Downs, following Bill Flynn’s polka and most of all spending time with her family. She was one of the world’s best cooks, teaching her children and grandchildren how to make all the polish dishes she learned from her grandmother. She cherished each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren above all else and she said to all of us, I LOVE YOU AS BIG AS THE SKY!!!!!
Funeral arrangements are through Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E Main Street, Endicott. Calling hours will be Friday, November 19, 2021 between 10:00 – 11:30 with a service at 11:30 at the Funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery after funeral service.
