Marcia Ann Johnston

Marcia Ann (Mulligan) Johnston, 67, of Owego, NY passed away peacefully on March 17, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. Retired as a Certified Pharmacy Technician from CVS in Owego, Marcia loved being around and working with people. She always had a warm, welcoming smile and kind word for anyone that she met, whether working in the factory at GAF or EJ Shoes, working as an aide at the Owego-Apalachin School District or working at Rite Aid, The Pharmacy and CVS. A wonderful cook and baker, Marcia researched recipes daily and often shared her dishes with others at parties and family gatherings. Marcia adored her children and grandchildren and devoted her life to her family. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 42 years Alfred Johnston. Lovingly known as Nana, she is also survived by her five children, eleven grandchildren and one great grandson, all of whom she would constantly talk about with love and adoration: William (Missy) Johnston; children Joel (Michelle), Aubre (son Owen), and Brittany; Tammy (William) Forlano; children Logan Wunder, Henry and Giavanna; Steven (Lori) Johnston; son Shane; Jeremy (Tammy) Johnston; children Sophie and Tyler; and daughter Carrie (Stathie) Govas; children Dimitri and Brody. Marcia also leaves behind a special sister in law, Judy Mulligan, mother in law Ida Johnston, two brothers in law: Robert (Kim) Johnston, Roger (Linda) Johnston, two sisters in law: Rose Noto and Sharon (Phil) Gerould, a great aunt, Norma Griffin, great uncle Thomas Clark, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marcia made many friends along the way, including lifelong friend Carol Smith and longtime friends Helen Corder and Lucie Relyea. Marcia enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, watching movies on The Hallmark Channel and spending time with family. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the ICU staff at Lourdes Hospital for their wonderful care during this difficult time.
Marcia is reunited with her parents, Gerard and Thelma Mulligan, and brother Patrick Mulligan. Friends and family will gather to celebrate her life on Sunday March 26, 2017 at Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott from 2-4 pm with services following at 4 pm.
