Margaret Rosic Direnzo, 91, of Endicott died Friday, September 12, 2014 at Emeritus at Woodland Place, Vestal. She was born on December 22, 1922, in Binghamton, the daughter of the late George and Anna (Demjian) Rosic. Margaret married Thomas Direnzo November 22, 1945, at St. Michael’s Church in Binghamton. He died July 21, 2014. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School and worked for many years at the former Burt’s Department Store, Endicott. She is survived by a daughter, Carole Shores and her husband James of New London, CT; a son, Thomas Direnzo, Jr. and his wife Margaret Ann of Oreland, PA; three grandsons, Christopher Lacey and his wife Ali of Norwich, CT; Thomas Lacey of Kodiak, AK; Luke Direnzo, of Philadelphia, PA; and a granddaughter, Tara Bell and her husband Daniel, of Philadelphia; four great-grandchildren, Jack; Matthew; and Megan Lacey of Norwich CT, and Charles Bell of Philadelphia, several nieces and nephews, and a devoted family friend, Vivian Sienkiewicz. Margaret was predeceased by her husband and her sisters Anne Hendricks, Esther Fryer, and Sally Rosic. She was a longtime member of St. Ambrose Church.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10 am at St. Ambrose Church 203 Washington Avenue, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 9 am until Mass time at 10. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Memorial contributions may be sent to The Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Western Broome, One Clubhouse Road, Endicott, NY 13760, in her memory.
