Margaret Holly

Margaret D. Holly formerly of Queens, New York passed away Sunday, June 3 at Ideal Skilled Nursing Facility after a long and good life three days prior to her 97th birthday. Marge died peacefully surrounded by her family and several dedicated caregivers from Ideal. She was predeceased by her parents Vito and Johanna Molfetta, her six siblings and the majority of her lifetime friends including her beloved husband of 55 years, Rudy. Marge is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dr. Randolph and Karen Holly of Vestal, Her grandchildren Alana and Jarett, Several nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law Theresa Molfetta. Marge is the last of an original Italian immigrant family coming to America for a better life. She was extremely proud of her Italian heritage and her family. Marge enjoyed Sinatra and the music of the1940s as well as dancing. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Ideal Senior Living Center from the dietary department to skilled nursing , Too many to mention that showed kindness, compassion and friendship in her journey through all the care levels over the last 11 years. The entire staff do a very difficult job with limited rewards, except they do it with true compassion and empathy for their patients. Special thanks to Sarah from Rose Court for being there! And for everything else. Special Love and thanks to “that girl” Diana Kresge, Marge’s friend and companion in early days in Broome County going on road trips and just hanging out.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 pm, Saturday, June 16th at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY at the convenience of the family. The Family will receive friends at church Saturday June 16th from 11:30 am until 12:15 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Marge’s memory can be made to the Ideal Senior Living Center or any other charity of their choosing.
