Marian Theresa Spellane, 79 of Endwell went peacefully to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ and reunited with her husband, on March 23, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Francis C. Spellane. She is survived by her children Francis (Gloria), Vincent (Lorie), Theresa (JP) Sacco, Mary (Scott) Newman, John (Anita); 10 grandchildren Michael (Crystal) Frederick, Kevin, Jessica, Alex, Emily, Ashley, Michael, Jacob, Isaac, and Sarah, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews from Philadelphia Pa. where she was born and raised. Marian graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1953; she was married to Frank on April 11, 1959, and moved to Endwell in 1965 where she raised 5 children. Marian was a devoted mother, a fantastic cook, and her spaghetti sauce and pizzelle cookies are still unmatched to this day. Marian loved the Lord, her family, and her church. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Church in Apalachin, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and Lecturer. She previously was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church in Endicott, where she taught CCD, marriage encounter, and summer bible school at Our Lady of Angels. Marian and Frank held bible study and prayer meetings at their house and were active supporters of the Eastern Farm Workers for many years donating food and clothing. Marian helped many people along life’s journey; she opened her heart and her home to strangers in need and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 9:15 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Margaret Mary’s Church, Apalachin at 10 am. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Marian’s name can be made to Lourdes Hospice.
