Marie Ciotoli

Marie (Marini) Ciotoli, of Endicott, passed away peacefully in her home on January 20, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Nick and Helen Marini, and her father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Anna Ciotoli; her brothers-in-law, Robert Kropp, Richard Kropp, and Lawrence Ciotoli. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Ciotoli; her son, Ronald Ciotoli and daughter-in-law, Karen Ciotoli; her daughter, Danea Hurd and son-in-law, Shane Hurd; her grandchildren, Khala and Shane Hurd, and Matthew Ciotoli; her sisters, Elaine (Patrick) McLaughlin and Angela (Michael) Schermerhorn; her sister-in-law, Joan (John-in-spirit) Matolka; her brothers-in-law, Edward (Marie) Ciotoli, David (Sue) Ciotoli, and Thomas (Kathy) Ciotoli; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marie was a remarkable woman who made an impact on every person she met. She was a very active member in the community. She served on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome, the Southern Tier Opportunity Coalition, the Aurora Project, and Girls Balance the Equation. She worked at IBM Corporation for 40 years, where she started as an Administrative Assistant to a Department Manager and worked her way up to Project Manager before retiring. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott, and an avid golfer and bowler. She formed and led the Lady Aces Tuesday Night Golf League at Hiawatha, was Vice President of the En-Joie Ladies Golf Association, and was a vital part of at least two En-Joie Member-Guest tournaments. But, as much as she loved golfing, there is nothing she loved more than spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren perform in athletics and theater, going for dinner and drinks with her husband, socializing with her friends, and cooking and baking for her entire family. Many would agree that she made the best chocolate chip cookies, chicken cutlets, and meatballs ever. She was a devoted wife, mother, and “Ma.” She lived a life full of unconditional love for all and welcomed anyone and everyone into her home, treating all as if they were family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank Dr. Kloss, Dr. George and his staff at Roswell Park, Maria and Anne Marie at Roswell Park, Dr. Alberico, Dr. Damron, Dr. Brodey, Upstate Medical, Wilson Hospital, Lourdes Hospice, AM/PM Homecare Inc., and UHS Home Care for their outstanding work and dedication to making Marie comfortable while in their care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Monday from 5-7 pm. Appropriate precautions are being taken for public health concerns, including masks, social distancing, and managing the number of visitors at one time.
