Marilyn Kathleen Roosa, 80, of Endicott passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Marilyn was predeceased by her father and mother, Byron and Isabella Roosa, brother and sister-in law David and Audrey Roosa, friend and ex-husband Kenneth Sutliff.
She is survived by her loving children Ellen and Ronald Fisher of Sandy Pond, Eric and Sarah Sutliff of Binghamton, Amy and Steven Schaefer of Endwell, Becky Sutliff and Michael Buemi of Vestal. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Colby and Amy Fisher, Danielle Schaefer, Lauren Smith and “Little Whirlwind” Marco Buemi; sister Jean Vivona, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Janet Roosa, brother Richard Roosa, and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn retired after years at IBM and enjoyed spending her free time caring, cooking, baking and watching over her grandchildren. She also spent countless hours with her cherished kids, teachers and staff at Linnaeus West/Ann G. McGuinness Elementary School as a Foster Grandparent. It brought her so much joy to work out math problems, read to her children and watch them grow. In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed putting puzzles together, doing word searches, knitting, crocheting, watching her favorite movies and reading a good Mary Higgins Clark mystery novel.
Due to current conditions and at the family’s discretion a private graveside service will be held at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy in Marilyn’s memory may be made to The Broome County Office of Aging Foster Grandparent Program. The family would also like to thank the staff at Vestal Park for their care and support during these difficult months.
