Marion L. Afarian, 75, of Binghamton, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014, at Ideal Senior Living Center, Endicott. She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Adda Gillette and a brother, William Gillette. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Joseph Steiner, Vestal, Linda and James Kindlon, W. Sand Lake, NY, and Patricia Connors and William Shoemaker, Binghamton. She is also survived by six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Gillette, Endwell, Barbara and Joseph Witko, Port Dickinson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and one aunt. Marion was retired from the Sheltered Workshop. She was a member of Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, Binghamton. She was a past resident of Woodburn Court #1, Binghamton, was a member of both the First Ward and Broome West Senior Centers, and was a former member of the Greenman Senior Center.
Funeral and Interment Services will be held Friday at 11 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend David Drebert officiating. Interment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 10 am until service time at 11 am. Expressions of sympathy in Marion’s memory may be made to The Disabled American Veterans. The family wishes to thank the staff at Ideal Senior Living Center, Lily Court, for their care and concern.
