Marion Gallagher

Marion Gallagher, 86, of Vestal, entered into eternal rest at Mercy House of the Southern Tier, surrounded by her loving family on March 28, 2021. Marion was predeceased by her father and mother, Nicholas and Mary Petcosky; her brothers, Nickolas, Joseph, John, Andrew, Donald, Paul and her sister Anna. Marion is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Thomas J. Gallagher, as well as her loving children; Joseph (Kathy) Gallagher and Ann Marie (John) Moffe. Marion is also survived by her granddaughter Sydney Gallagher, with whom she shared a close and special bond. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law; Margaret Petcosky, Elizabeth Petcosky and Margaret Gallagher, as well as many nieces and nephews, whom she adored.
Marion was a member of St. Vincent De Paul/Blessed Sacrament Church and enjoyed spending time with, and taking care of her family. She especially enjoyed hosting family celebrations. She took up golf later in life, taking lessons from Jorie Ftorek at Endwell Greens, alongside her granddaughter. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Wilson ER and South Tower 5 for their loving care, Lourdes Hospice, and especially the staff at Mercy House for their compassionate and loving care during Marion’s final journey. A special thank you to Fran Spring for help in caring for our mother while she was in Hospice care. The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Campbell, Dr. Yalamanchili, Dr. Khan, Dr. Hogan and Marita Florini (FNP), for helping Marion live her life to the fullest.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Marion’s memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
