Mary E. Brown was born in Binghamton on August 10, 1933 and died at Bridgewater Nursing Center on January 26, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary Brutvan, brothers Richard and Robert Brutvan, grandson Mark Ozminkowski, and husband Joseph Brown. She is survived by four daughters and sons in law: Barb and Gary Ozminkowski; Carolyn and Doug Edwards; Anne and Terry Brown; Diane and Pat Pakel. Also survived by grandchildren Gary Edwards and his children Caelynn, Carly, and Nate Edwards; Anthony Brown; Dan and Kaley Ozminkowski; Jill Johnson; Amy and Sean Campbell; Michelle Pakel. Mary graduated from Binghamton High School and retired as a Bookkeeper from the Grand Union. After retirement she discovered a talent for water color painting, traveled with Joe, became a Eucharistic Minister for St. Ambrose Church, and indulged in her love of yard sales. Mom’s life centered around family and good friends, and we will all miss her greatly.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10 am at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Tuesday from 9 am until Mass time at 10 am. Donations can be made to Director of Community Life Bridgewater Nursing Center 159 Front St. Binghamton NY 13901 Mary Brown Fund in order to purchase Joy for All Companion Pets, interactive pet-like cats to provide comfort and companionship to residents of the 3A unit at Bridgewater Nursing Center.
