Mary Picciano Cascio, age 95, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2018, at Ideal Senior Living Center. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dominick, her parents Emilio and Teresa Picciano, and her sisters Dora Manfredo and Eva Picciano. She is survived by her daughter Marie Blum (Michael), her son Frank Cascio, her sister Jean Picciano, two granddaughters (Elisa Blum and Rachel Smith), one grandson (Dylan Cascio), three great-grandchildren, two sisters-in law (Lillian Cascio and Shirley Cascio), her special Godchild Ann Marie Kishpaugh, and many dearly-loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary was dedicated to her family and her faith. She was very proud of her Italian heritage, and loved cooking for family and friends. She was a life-long member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Endicott. Mary enjoyed participating in the St. Anthony Field Days and singing in the St. Anthony Choir and Endwell Community Chorus. She was a 50-year member of the ‘Chat and Chew Sewing Club’, as well as several other church and community groups. Mary retired from Broome County Social Services in 1986.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Sunday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church.
