Mary Anne Farley

Mary Farley went to her eternal rest on February 6 (her mother’s birthday), 2024 in Endicott, NY with her loving children, Jean and Paul, as well as her husband, Tom, by her side. She was 88 years old. Mary Ann Daley Farley was born on May 18, 1935 to Mary Howley Daley and Joseph Daley, who both immigrated to the US and settled on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. Her parents raised her and her younger brother, Joe, in an apartment on Amsterdam Ave and 107th street. Mary attended Ascension School, Blessed Sacrament High School and Misericordia University Nursing School in New York, graduating in 1956. Mary worked as a nurse at Misericordia Hospital for one year before transferring to Metropolitan Hospital.
Mary married Tom Farley in 1960 and the two remained married for 63 years. Mary and Tom lived in New York City and Anaheim, CA before settling in Endicott, NY. Mary and Tom had 2 children, Jean Elizabeth Farley Dorak and Paul Michael Farley. Mary had three grandchildren, Maiya, Alyssa, and Salina Dorak, whom she loved dearly and cared for daily for many years. Mary is also survived by her brother, Joe, and her sister-in-law, Eileen, and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Mary’s kindness and good nature were evident to all who knew her. Indeed, just about everyone who ever met Mary remarked at how sweet she was. It was impossible not to like her.
Mary was devoted to her church and volunteered five decades of her life to serving her parish as Eucharistic minister and Sunday school teacher.
Mary’s favorite pass-time was dancing. When she was younger, she and her closest friends would go down to Rockaway Beach, NY and dance until 4:00am. She was known at the nursing home as The Mayor of the third floor and Dancing Queen. Until her last day, Mary was dancing and moving and bringing joy to everyone around her.
The world lost an angel on February 6 and heaven has one more beautiful soul.
Mary’s viewing will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 9:00am-10:00am. The funeral service will follow.
