Mary “Mae” Grigonis

Mae Grigonis, 100, passed away on November 12, 2017 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family. Mae was predeceased by her husband Albert, her parents Catherine and Rudolph Buckheit, her daughter Catherine Mallon, sisters Margaret and Ann. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Mary Ann and Paul Wolpert of Endicott. Grandchildren Paul and Colleen Wolpert, James and Sandra Wolpert, William and Maureen Wolpert and Timothy Mallon. Her great grandchildren, Tanner, Wyatt, Ethan, Lindsay and Scott. Special nieces Marguerite, Barbara, Marilyn (her god daughter) and Agnes. Mae was a member of the Church of the Holy Family, Endwell. She lived at the Marian Apts. Since 2002 and loved attending all the activities they offered, dinners, bingo, parties and made so many friends. She enjoyed the Yankees, bingo at the JC Senior Center and mostly her weekly visits to Tioga Downs Casino. She loved playing card games at family gatherings, but only for quarters. She had a gift for growing plants, especially her orchards. My Mom, our Grandmother, Great Grandma, Aunt and friend will be missed so much!
The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Wednesday from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at the Church of the Holy Family, Endwell at 10 am. Burial will be in NYC. God has blessed Mae for 100 years and any expressions of Sympathy, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
