Mary Louise Herrick

Mary Louise Herrick, 76, of Johnson City, NY, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born February 4, 1940 to the late Walter Clyde Herrick and Lucy Adrienne McNulty Herrick. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Clyde Herrick on April 14, 2016. Mary is survived by her two children: son, Paul Hutchins and Judy Sears; and daughter, Elizabeth Taggart and her husband Keith, and their two children, Krischiana and Elayshia. Mary is also survived by her sister, Rose Anne Sanford, her husband Larry and their daughter Lynn Linkowski, her husband Rick and their two children, Laine and Rory. Mary grew up in Litchfield, PA, graduated from Sayre High School, and Mansfield State Teachers College and earned her Master’s degree in Cortland. Her entire career was spent teaching English, primarily at Whitney Point High School. She was also an accomplished artist, and left behind many beautiful oil paintings. She also dabbled in pottery and ceramics. She loved writing, including poetry, and was an avid book reader. But the great loves of her life were her children and grandchildren, who, along with all her family and friends, will miss her terribly.

In accordance with Mary’s wishes, there will be no public service. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 59 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 or other charitable organization of your choice.
