Mary Jane (Mills) Nash passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Mary Jane was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy Mills, and her husband, Joseph L. Nash. She is survived by her son, Timothy Nash and her daughter-in law, Heidi Nash, Bolton, MA, her daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) Kenny and her son-in-law, Leo Kenny, of Pleasanton, CA, and her son, Vincent Nash, of Tucson, AZ. She additionally leaves behind her grandsons, Ian Kenny, Nate Kenny and Sean Nash, and her granddaughters, Meredith Nash, Kristen Nash, and Tess Kenny. She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Rowe, and many nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was born in 1931 and raised in Endicott, New York, graduating from Union-Endicott High School. After high school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Arts in Speech from the University of Michigan. Mary Jane lived in New York City and worked as an associate producer at NBC. She moved to Vestal to raise her family, and retired from the Vestal Central School District where she worked as a teacher. She was a dedicated community volunteer, offering her time to Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, the Girl Scouts, and the American Association of University Women, among other worthwhile organizations.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 2:30 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal. The family will receive friends on Thursday at church from 1:30 pm until Mass time at 2:30 pm. Private burial will take place at Saint Augustine Cemetery, Pennsylvania at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in Mary Jane’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, NY 13790.
