Mary Louise Ruane

Baptized in the hope of Christ’s resurrection. Mary Louise Ruane, 80, loving mother and grandmother, of Endicott passed away on May 1st after a long illness, surrounded by her family at Mercy House. Mary was born on November 20, 1937 in Scranton, PA. She attended St. Paul’s H.S. in Scranton. On April 4, 1959, Mary married Robert Emmett Ruane. They moved several times in the early years, eventually settling in Endicott in 1964 where they worked and raised four children. Mary was predeceased by Robert and her brother Myles. Mary is survived by her children, Robert of Endwell; Beth and her husband Jim of St. Louis, MO; Sharon and her husband Blaise of Burlington, VT; and Molly and her husband Thomas of Tully, NY. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, Jimmy and his wife Mary; Katie and Samantha; Oskar and Alice; and Brendan and Cara. On the occasion of her 80th birthday Mary held her great-granddaughter Gracie in a joyful culmination of a life well lived. Mary’s family expresses their deep gratitude for the loving care she received at Mercy House.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday 10 am from Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 701 West Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 9 am until Mass time at 10 am.
