On Monday June 24, 2019, Matthew E. Hammond loving husband and father of three passed away after a prolonged battle of ampullary cancer. Matthew was predeceased by his father, David Hammond and step Mother Linda Hammond. Matthew is survived by his mother, Diane (LaRue) Roberts; his loving wife of 14 years, Jessica I. Hammond; their children, Alexys and Ayden Hammond; his son Stephen (Chelsie) Dye; grandchildren, Linkon and Cruz; his siblings, Mike Hammond (Kim Williams), Michele (Craig)Balfour, Jennifer Fontes, and Scott Rapelje; as well as several nieces and nephews; along with extended family and friends. Matthew worked as a store manager with Tire Kingdom in Naples Florida until moving to Newark Valley, NY in 2007. He was then with Kost/Mr. Tire automotive for 8 years. Matthew was heavily involved with Maine-Endwell Little League Baseball, peewee football, M-E hoops basketball and the Milk dud 4-H club. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling but most of all spending his time with his family and friends around a bonfire.
The family will receive friends on Friday July 5th from 11 am-12 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott.
