Maurice “Al” Brogdale

Maurice “Al” Brogdale, 87, of Apalachin, NY passed away January 31, 2018 at Vestal Park Nursing Center. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Winifred (Longcoy) Brogdale. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Marion (Brewer) Brogdale; children Eugene Brogdale, Gary (Sue) Brogdale, Kathy Wood, Ronald (Teri) Brogdale, and Keith Brogdale; brothers Rexford (Teresa) Brogdale, and Robert Brogdale; grandchildren Justin Ariola, Laura (Seth) Williams, Christopher Brogdale, Stacey Brogdale, Ashley Wood, and Jaime Wood. Al served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from IBM after 35 years as a skilled tool and die maker. He was an avid trout fisherman and loved fishing Owasco and Keuka lakes. He also enjoyed hunting with his sons and friends. Al was an excellent hunter and brought home many trophy bucks. A special thank you goes out to the staff at Vestal Park for the wonderful care they provided for Al.
The family will receive friends at Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, NY on Monday, February 5 from 9:30 to 11:00 am. A service will be held immediately following at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1200 Walnut St, Elmira, NY 14905 at 3:15 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Central New York, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
