Michael Dailey

Michael Joseph Dailey, 51, of Endicott, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Michael is survived by his wife, Lori Dailey, his daughter, Alyssa Dailey, his step-son, Nicholas (Jessica) Politi of Endicott, NY, and his grandchildren, Karmen Miller and Emma Grace Politi. Also surviving Michael are his parents, Edward and Teresa Dailey of Brackney, PA, his brother, Dr. Edward M. (Nancy) Dailey of Sayre, PA, his sister, Bethanne (Dr. Scott) Berman of Winchester, VA, and his sister-in-law Amy (Will) Peacock along with his nephews and nieces, Drew and Jaden Berman, Eddie, Jon, and Natalie Dailey, and Erin and Jarrod Peacock, as well as many special Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Also remembering Michael is his dear friend, David Iannone. Michael was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Gretchen Dailey and his maternal grandparents Michael and Anna Lockett in whose home he continued to reside. Michael was born to Edward and Teresa Dailey on January 30, 1963 in Johnson City, NY. He was a 1981 graduate of Union Endicott High School where he excelled in swimming and making people laugh. Michael was a member of the Sons of Italy in Endicott, NY and enjoyed celebrating his Italian heritage on the North Side of Endicott. The traditions of his Italian grandparents were an important part of Mike’s life and legacy. He was a master gardener and vintner as he continued to make wine in his grandparent’s wine cellar. Michael welcomed everyone into his home to share a glass of wine and a story to pass the time. Michael’s favorite place to be was with his wife and daughter at “the Cabin” walking barefoot and enjoying nature on Tyler Mountain. He loved hunting and fishing with his brother and could lose himself in the hills of his grandfather’s Christmas tree farm. Mike also enjoyed tending the vines and sharing a laugh with his sister in the Virginia countryside. Mike’s idea of a good time was sitting around the campfire at Laurel Lake with family laughing, especially with his Dad, and telling stories until the wee hours of the morning. He learned the art of cooking from his Mother and enjoyed feeding his friends and family almost as much as she does! Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend…Michael Dailey will be missed by one and all.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 12 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the Family. The family will receive friends at church Saturday from 10 am until Mass time at 12 pm.
