Michael “Mike” Haggerty

Michael J Haggerty of Endicott, NY Passed away on January 24, 2022 in his home under hospice care with his brother and sister-in-law in attendance. Mike was 70 years old at his death.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Rena F Dyer, and Patrick J Haggerty
He is survived by his brother Dennis Haggerty, sister in law Maryann, nephew Kevin Haggerty (Jennifer), Niece Kathleen Zinsman (Zeph), great nephews, Dominic, Gabriel, Luca Haggerty and Massimo Zinsman all of San Jose Ca. Mike is also survived by his beloved dog Maggi.
Mike graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Seaton High School, Broome Tech Community College and Binghamton University where he majored in Business Administration.
Mike used his business skills in his employment with the Broome County Department of Social Services. He became head of the employment division, intaking clients and matching them with services. Mike retired in 2007 and became a partner in the Star Group. This company specializes in programs and services for individuals with disabilities, disadvantages and other challenges. Mike dedicated his life to helping others in his employment and after as a volunteer at Lourdes Hospital.
Mike also made many close friends, loved his house, enjoyed a good laugh, antiquing, was a film buff, and loved to read. He also was a lifelong NY Giants fan, and enjoyed going to the US Tennis Open in New York as well as going to local sporting events.
He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
There will be a mass and celebration of life in May. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Broome County, The Diabetes Association or St. Jude.
