Our beloved mother, Mildred Kintner, 87, of Anderson Road, Vestal, passed peacefully to our Lord Thursday, September 6, where she joins her husband, Alvin Maynard Kintner. Born on February 21, 1925 in Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late William and Hila Kinney. Also preceding her in death is her sister, Theresa Wega of Johnson City. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Rose, Johnson City, NY, a brother, Peter Kinney, Bridgewater, MA., a son, Ronald and Valerie Kintner, Mountain View, NY and their sons, Leo and Evan, a son, David and Liliana Kintner, Evans, GA, and their sons, Jasen and Adam, a son, John (Terry) and Barbara Kintner, Missouri City, TX and their son, Matthew and daughter, Shannon, a daughter, Barbara and John Zimniski, Trucksville, PA and their daughter, Bridget (Drew) Krajacic, and their sons, Johnny and Nicky, a son, Michael and Pat Kintner, Attleboro, MA, and their daughter, Emma, a son, Martin Kintner, Somerset, WI, and a son, Christopher and Jackie Kintner, Concord, NC, and their daughter, Stephanie (Andrew) Worthy; also numerous nieces and nephews.Mildred was a graduate of the Charles S. Wilson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing 1946.She has worked as Supervisor at the Endicott Nursing Home and the Vestal Nursing Center.Mildred belonged to the Tuscarora Chapter of D.A.R., and was a Charter Member of both the Boston Purchase Colony of New England Women and Post 88 Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W.She also enjoyed playing cards for many years with her dear friends in the ladies Bridge group. Mildred was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Endicott, where she volunteered at the food pantry and Perpetual Adoration. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 am at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am from St. Ambrose Church.Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 4-7 pm.In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Mildred’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, National Service Office, 344 West Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13202, or to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, NY 13790.
