Nadine Maruca

Nadine Fenson Koot Maruca, 96, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2018. Nadine was predeceased by her mother and father, Mary And Simon Fenson, also by her first husband, Paul Koot, and survived by the still beloved members of his family Mary Louise Hartun and Katherine Miller. John Maruca, her second husband of 32 years died in 2008 and is survived by his loving daughter, Dr. Mary Ann Barden and husband William; granddaughter, Dr. Tiffannie Sechrist and husband Chad; also great granddaughters Riley and Brenden Sechrist. Nadine was predeceased by her sisters, Sophie Potochnik and her husband Michael , Olga Klemchuk, and Mary Wiwigac and her husband Chester. She was also predeceased by sisters and brothers in law; Mary and Leroy Coe, Katherine and Douglas Anthony, Concetta and Francis Wolfe, Mary and Bernard Maruca, and Peter Maruca. Nadine was also predeceased by nephews, Jerry Potochnik and Edward Wiwigac. She is survived by two special nieces, Carol Bowman and husband Jim, and Sharon Tiffany and husband Ralph, as well as many other nieces, grand nieces and nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her extended Maruca family. Nadine owned and operated Shirley’s Dress Shop on the Avenue in Endicott for 35 years. Civic involvement was always important to Nadine. In the past 40 years she was involved in organizations such as the Monday Afternoon Club, now known as Phelps Mansion Foundation; Binghamton Garden Club, LOCA. As a recognized artist, she was a member of the Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier; Scottsdale Artist League and was elected to the National League of American Pen Women. She was an avid traveler; golfer, bridge player and water color artist.
A Funeral Service celebrating Nadine’s life will be he held Tuesday 11 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Avenue, Endicott, with the Reverend John Martinichio officiating. Interment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at church Tuesday from 10 am until Service time at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Nadine’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
