Nathan Cook

d. April 22, 2022

Nathan Lawrence Cook, 17, unexpectedly passed away on April 22, 2022. Nate came into the world on April 21, 2005, just how he lived it: brimming with energy and larger than life. (As the family always joked, his mom’s bump was big enough for 2!) Since the beginning, his smile was contagious and his laugh infectious. Nate traveled through the world with a big heart, his grin shining light wherever he went.

Even when he was a pint-sized kid, Nate was fearless. His boundless energy and extraordinary coordination made him a force to be reckoned with on and off the field. He loved track, cross country, and soccer–really anything competitive. Off the field, his talents extended to both console and VR games. But what made Nate most special was his loyalty and endless support for his teammates, friends, and family, who he routinely went out of his way to care for and make laugh. Nate’s presence in the world bettered all of their lives.

Thank you to all the coaches, teachers, and friends who understood Nate and brought out his eclectic sense of humor.

He is survived, deeply missed, and forever loved by parents Sara and Benjamin Cook; sister Makayla Cook; great-grandmother Carole Baer; grandparents Debi and Marshall Cook, Pat Hickey Cramer, Mark Cramer, and Lori Duncan; aunts and uncles Jesse Cook and Nicole Kelsey, Michael Cramer and Kali Cohn, and Larry and Britni Cramer; and so many more family members. His beautiful heart loved so many, including his girlfriend Dakota Van Dusen; best friends Joe, Brayden, Robert, and Aiden; and coaches Mrs. Dougherty and Meghan Jacobs.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Nate’s love for gaming and supporting others, please send donations to Gamers Outreach (https://gamersoutreach.org/), which provides entertainment through video games to hospitalized children to restore a sense of joy and normalcy during the hospitalized stay.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 until 2 pm at Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott.
