Patricia A. (Olivieri) Panella, age 73, born April 14, 1941, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 5, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent, her parents Victor and Rose Olivieri, her in-laws Anthony and Josephine Panella, her brother Robert Olivieri, her brothers in-law John Diorio Jr. and Keith Underwood, and nephew David Panella. She is survived by her daughter and son in-law Paulette and Paul Novobilski and their sons Eric, Ryan and Kyle; her son and daughter in-law Tom and Laura Panella and their sons Ron and Tommy; her sisters Joanne Diorio and Kathleen (and Mark) Decker; Terri Underwood; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends Bud and Fil Trapani; and two special “granddaughters” Sarah and Heather Marsh. Patti graduated from Union-Endicott High School in 1959. We are proud of our mom and how she accepted the role of caregiver at a very young age. She took care of many children for over thirty years. She was a parishioner of Saint Anthony’s of Padua Church. Patti was a diehard New York Giants fan and faithfully followed the Yankees. Patti was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and had many friends. She and Vince enjoyed their monthly card club games and trips to the casinos. Most of all, Patti was very proud of her grandsons and thoroughly enjoyed watching them excel at sports. They were truly her pride and joy. We will miss her, but take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with Vince.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 4-7 pm. Those wishing may make contributions to Susquehanna Valley Gridiron Club: 2443 Bernice Blvd, Binghamton, NY 13903, or Friends of Spartan Football: 7 Burt Ave, Endwell, NY 13760.
