Paul J. Gofran of Endicott, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Paul was born in Olean, NY on June 10, 1923. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Sophie R. (Zembek) Gofran on November 13, 2007. He was also predeceased by his parents Anna (Leskow) and John Gofran, his sisters, Martha (Charles) Wenke, Kathryn (John) Henderson, Mary Gofran and Nel Gofran. He is also predeceased by his loving daughter-in-law, Carol Gofran. He is survived by his five children and their families: Mark Gofran, Lynne and Walt Bucher, John and Sandy Gofran, Mary Therese and Tim Owen, and Elise and Rick Lee. His wonderful grandchildren with their spouses: Natalie Gofran; Dan Bucher and Jen (Josh) Beck; Steve, Thomas (Loni), and Paul (Danielle) Gofran; Sean Paul and Samantha Owen and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special cousins, with whom he was raised: John, George and Julie (predeceased by Martha). Paul was a World War II Veteran serving in the C.B.I. theater. He was a proud graduate of St. Bonaventure University. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, the Owego VFW and American Legion Posts.
Funeral Services will be held Friday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main St., Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10 am. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Thursday from 3-6 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 200 Grippen Ave, Endicott, NY 13760 or to the American Heart Association.
