Peter J. Fanelli, 89, of Endicott went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Colombia (Rossi) Fanelli and sisters Jena and Angeline Fanelli. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Nancy (Quaranta) Fanelli, his children, Joseph (Jenny) Fanelli, of Syracuse, NY, Marie (Larry) Bates of Endicott, NY and Peter (Maureen) Fanelli, of Endicott, NY, his devoted grandchildren, David (Grace) Fanelli, Peter Fanelli and Danielle Myers, Joseph Fanelli and Heather Rinder, Anthony (Jenine) Bates, Christopher Bates and Sundae Oxley, Danielle Bates and Gavin Keaty, Adrienne Bates and Ed Menhennet, Michael (Katie) Fanelli, Kristin (Kyle) Bowers and Nicholas Fanelli, and his great-grandchildren, Rose and Mae Fanelli, Angelina Bates and Christopher Wright, Noah Bates and Isaiah Oxley, Sidney Menhennet, Mia and Liliana Fanelli, and Ava and Ella Bowers, as well as several special cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. Peter was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Endicott, NY. He worked for Endicott-Johnson Corporation and retired from Jennie F. Snapp Middle School as Head Custodian. He also worked for many years at Lee’s Window Unit in Endicott. Peter was a master craftsman and was well known for his meticulous woodworking skills and beautiful creations. He also loved working on his incredible H-O train set-up. If the sun was shining, he could often be found working outside, keeping his house and lawn immaculate and bringing in a bumper crop of tomatoes and zucchini from his garden. He was totally devoted to his family and made them his first priority, always taking care of everyone, especially acting as caregiver for his wife, Nancy and sister, Jena. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who were fortunate to know him. Peter’s family would like to thank the staff at Vestal Park Nursing Center for the kind and loving care shown during his stay there.
Funeral Services will be held Monday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ambrose Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Sunday from 2-5 pm.
