Philomena Johnston

Philomena Marie Johnston, age 84 passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Mercy House. She had a passion for reading, growing her flowers and vegetable gardens, Notre Dame football, traveling with her soulmate and husband of 62 years, Donald Leslie, who preceded her to heaven. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Her sense of humor and faith allowed her to survive three prior cancers. Her family and friends, many of whom she met prior to graduating from U-E, class of 1 954, were very dear to her. She worked a variety of jobs outside of the home, but her favorite was as a hobbyist, business owner, and maker of porcelain dolls. She traveled to doll shows with her daughter and was a member of the Broome County Doll
Club. She is predeceased by her parents, Romeo Felice and Anna Swartz. Philomena is survived by sisters, Patricia Zemanek and Deborah Goughary and brother Robert Felice. She is missed by her children Arleen Johnston Endicott, NY, Scott Johnston (Patty) son Logan, Toms River, NJ, Laura Johnston, N. Venice, FL, Donald H. Johnston
(Deanne) son Brandon, daughter Kamryn, Endwell, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Saturday from 10-11 am. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Vestal. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mercy House, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
