Phyllis Jane Novak, age 78 passed away peacefully at Syracuse Upstate University Hospital on April 4th, 2025. She was born in Johnson City, New York. She graduated from UE high school in 1964. She was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Irene Depuy Toft, brother Charles Toft, sisters Elizabeth Teed (Donald Teed) and Harriet Margargle and her in-laws Albert and Mary Novak. Survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Larry Novak, sister Louise Leonard, brother in-law Terry Margargle, sister in-law Diane Novak, aunts (good friend Aunt Florence Smelkoff) and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also, very special friends Christine (Alan) Ackerman.
She retired from Lockheed Martin Owego and Apalachin Pharmacy. She enjoyed reading books, crocheting, playing pinochle with cousins Dave and Carla, watching NASCAR races, and vacationing in Florida and Maine.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Saturday, April 12, at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, 165 Clifton Blvd. Vestal. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at church, Saturday, April 12 from 9 am, until Mass time at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
