Pio Carlini

d. April 27, 2024

Pio Carlini, 88, born in Ceccano, Italy was met at the gates of heaven by St. Anthony after battling a long illness on April 27th, 2024.
He was predeceased by his mother Vincenza and father Antonio Carlini, and his six siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife Camilla of 63 years, and their three children. Diego (Donna), Tatiana (James Jr.), and Demetrio. His four grandchildren, Rosa (Andrew), Natalia (Devin & great-grandson-Elijah), Nikolai (fiancé-Lily), and Christian.
In 1967, Pio traveled to the United States in search of a better life for him and his family. After spending a year in Endicott, he fell in love with the area, then brought his family to Endicott. For fifty-seven years Pio raised his family and devoted himself to his family and their happiness. Pio’s affection for his wife, children and grandchildren was immeasurable.
After Fifteen years, he was able to start his tailor business “Pio Carlini l s Tailor Shop”, in Vestal, NY. He became a well known for his fine tailoring skill and attention to detail. Pio’s Italian accent when speaking to his customers may have been a challenge for most but not Pio. Pio would make sure customers left beyond satisfied. From an article in 1982 quote:
“They spent money on a suit, now it must fit properly. They want to look good wearing it”.
Over the years, he met several Italian families who soon became his extended family. They would enjoy many things together over the years. Pio and his friends would fish, make wine, pick mushrooms, garden, as well as have many social gatherings. He was also a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott.
Pio could light up any room when he would walk in with his laugh and smile. He was full of jokes and loved to playfully joke with his wife Camilla. He will be truly missed, but he was well loved by everyone and he is now at peace.
We will eternally keep you in our heart our beloved Nonno.
