Ray A. Beebe, 79, of Endicott, NY, passed away peacefully at Willow Point nursing home on Monday, 28 September 2020. Ray was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Helen Beebe; his two brothers, Don and Cal Beebe; his sister Alta Linkfelter; his two sons, Bruce and Jimmy Beebe; and his grandson, Justin Beebe.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara J. Eck Beebe; his son’s Gary and Joe Beebe; his daughter and daughter-in-law, Helen and Jennifer Mason; his daughter-in-law Tammy Gagnon-Beebe; his grandchildren Sarah and Jessica Eaton, Nicholas Beebe, PFC Thomas Beebe, Jimmy Beebe, Joey Beebe, Kloe Beebe, Phillip Beebe, Natalie Beebe, Noelani Mason, Isaiah Wilson and Kaden Middleton; his great grandchildren Chase and Madeline Croop; his sister’s Doris Powell, Betty Hebb, Maxine Rilea, Judy Eddy and Peggy Jett; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Ray was born and raised in Canton, Illinois. Many of his family members still reside there. Ray was a proud United States Air Force veteran of 26 years, including time he spent working for Presidents Nixon and Johnson. Ray coached high school softball while stationed in Incirlik A.F.B.,Turkey. He retired from Universal Fence Co. after 20+ years of work. Ray was a very active member of the American Legion for 20+ years and during that time he served one year as Commander for Post 1700. Ray and his wife, Barb, both volunteered with the 204th Army National Guard in Binghamton, NY, as well as Meals on Wheels for 16 years.
Ray was a loving man devoted to his family, with a great sense of humor. He was also a very hard worker. Ray was an avid sports fans, he especially loved the San Francisco 49er’s and the Chicago Cubs. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Ray had an unwavering faith in God.
Visitation will be held on Monday, 5 October 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a funeral mass to follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel (701 W Main St, Endicott, NY, 13760). Burial services will be at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the service.
