Raymond P. Hickey, 86, of Endicott, NY passed away following a lengthy illness Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Ideal Skilled Nursing Facility, Endicott, NY. Ray was born March 26, 1928 to Marie (Neville) and James Hickey of Little Meadows, PA. he was predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Joseph and Marion Hickey, Rosemary and Mark Middendorf, Walter Hickey, Lawrence Hickey . He is survived by a sister Louise and William Darrow, sister-in-law, Joan Hickey and several nieces and nephews. Ray was a great brother and uncle to all of us. His family would like to thank Bill and Donna for all their help and support for the past eight years, to Tom Hickey for taking Ray to Doctor appointments and cousins support, prayers and phone calls; also Paul and Ed Shaughnessy for their many visits to see Ray, he enjoyed them so much; also the staff at Keepsake Village at Castle Gardens and skilled Nursing Staff at Ideal Nursing Facility at Daisy Court. He was an employee of IBM, Owego for thirty years , a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1839 of Endicott, NY and volunteered at Meals on Wheels.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ambrose Church at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Little Meadows, PA. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home on Monday from 8:30 am until prayer service at 9:30 am. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Southern Tier Regional Office, Nichols Notch, 401 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
