Regina “Jean” Prorock

Regina “Jean” Prorock, formerly of Endwell, New York, a current resident of the United Methodist Home, Hilltop Campus went to be with her Lord on August 4, 2018. She was born in Pennsylvania to Helen and John Spegar. After graduating from Nursing school, she moved to New York City to work at Bellevue Hospital. Later she moved to Endicott, New York working at Ideal Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She married Frank Prorock, the love of her life, in 1950. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her caring spirit and gentle nature warmed all who knew her. She was giving and selfless, providing unconditional love in all of her actions. She loved her family and her faith. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Endicott, New York. She enjoyed volunteering at the Absolute Nursing Facility. Jean was a member of St. Ambrose Alter and Rosary Society, the Pastoral Care Group and the Perpetual Adoration Society. She is survived by her children, Mary (Duane) Starchok, Helen (Mike) Arnett and Thomas (Shayne) Prorock. Her legacy includes nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is loved by all of her family, who will miss her sense of humor, traditional ethnic foods, family trips and caring personality.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church 203 Washington Avenue, Endicott, Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11 am. The family will receive friends at church from 9 until 10:45 am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at United Methodist Home, Hilltop Campus for their loving care and support over the past 5 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
