Richard F. Badertscher, 90, passed away at Vestal Park Nursing Center, Saturday May 4th, 2024. In addition to his parents Frederick and Caryl Badertscher, Richard was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Brenda; son-in-law Joseph Haick; daughter-in-law Deanna Badertscher; and his sister Marian Palmer. Richard is survived by his daughters, Philippa Haick, Vestal; Michelle (John) Barron, Vestal; Karen (Len) Cicciarelli, Endwell; his sons, David Badertscher, Endwell; Phillip (Chi) Badertscher, Johnson City. His grandchildren, Michael; David (Sara); Emily (Caleb); Nicole; Elizabeth (Lisa); Adam (Brianna); and Evan. His great grandchildren, Dylann; Hayden; Nolan; Brennan; Lucas and Charlotte. He is also survived by his brother Robert Badertscher of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was an Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. He was an employee of NYSEG for over 35 years, a talented artist and a quiet, unassuming man with a great sense of humor. He especially enjoyed summer vacations in Cape May with his family and walking to his favorite spot, the Cape May Lighthouse.
