Richard “Dick” Bonczek

Richard S. Bonczek 84, of Vestal, went to be with his Lord Saturday July 15, 2017. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Polly Ann Bonczek. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Chris Bonczek; loving children, Alison (Rick) Frisbie, Rick Bonczek, Christine Bonczek (Monica Price) and David (Monica) Bonczek; ten grandchildren Josh, Holly, Katie, Jon, Jesse, Mike, Christopher, Jake, Molly and Olivia; seven great grandchildren; two sisters and brother in law, Irene Borawski and Shirley (Tom) Prazych; two brothers and sister in law, Robert Bonczek and Paul (Dickie) Bonczek; nieces and nephews. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. A retired I.B.M. employee. A veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, making stained glass and cooking. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday 11 am from Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Sorrows Church Thursday 10 am until mass at 11 am. In lieu of flowers Expressions of Sympathy in Richard’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
