Richard Walter Gaskill Jr., 80 of Vestal, New York left the arms but not heart of his wife on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. He is predeceased by his parents Richard Gaskill Sr., Mary Louise Gaskill (Pomeroy); his first wife Doralyn Gaskill, sister in law Debbie Gaskill, brothers in law Art Loupert and William Schultz. He is survived by his wife of 16 years Pamela (Laskaris) Gaskill, daughter Donna (Jack) Bailey, son Alan Gaskill; seven wonderful grandchildren and their spouses and sixteen special great grandchildren, including his little buddy Wraven; his loving sisters and brother, Doris (Lloyd) Dent, Marjorie Loupert, Linda Schultz and Kenneth Gaskill. Richard proudly served in the United States Army, he retired from IBM as a senior engineer after 33 years. He was a member of the quarter century club. Richard enjoyed playing and coaching hockey, working on stock cars and hunting. Richard loved working with his hands and he built himself a hunting cabin that was his pride and joy and loved spending time there. Richard had four very dear friends they were like brothers. Al Zemanick, Gary Puzo, Jim Cobb and Bill Becker (the dream team).
Funeral Services will be held Friday 11 am from Central United Methodist Church, 17 Nanticoke Avenue, Endicott, with the Reverend Dr. Michelle Bogue-Trost, Pastor of his church officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at church Friday from 10 am until service time at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 401 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
