Richard Haddock, of Johnson City, formerly of Endicott and Fenwick Island, DE passed peacefully into Eternal Rest on May 23, 2021 at the age of 87 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Gail; children Lynn (Tony) Donatelli, Rick (Shelly) Haddock, Lori (Craig) Spencer, John (Anne) Haddock; grandchildren Nick (Mhairi) Donatelli, Matt (Rachael) Donatelli, AJ (Sarah) Donatelli, Jake (Crystal) Haddock, Sam Haddock, Ryan (Abby) Spencer, Courtney (Jack) Gostomski, Ben (Maggie) Spencer, Zach Spencer, Kara Haddock, and Reese Haddock, as well as great-grandchildren Finn Donatelli, Rowan Donatelli, Cole Spencer, Myles Spencer, Carter Gostomski, and Raegan Haddock. His greatest joy was watching his family grow, work, and laugh together over the years. Richard served in the United States Marine Corp, was active in community organizations and his children’s and grandchildren’s school and sports activities, and was a self-employed businessman for most of his working years. There wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix, create, or rebuild. After retirement, Rich and Gail spent many happy years by the sea in Fenwick Island, DE fishing, crabbing, making new friends, and hosting family get-togethers and special vacations. His quiet strength, sense of humor, and generosity will be missed by all and never forgotten.
Per Richard’s wishes there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in Richard’s memory may be made to the United Methodist Homes JGJ Resident Fund, 286 Deyo Hill Rd, Johnson City NY 13790.
