Richard Philip Noyes of Binghamton, NY went to eternal rest on 10/24/2022. He is survived by his daughter Kristan Tomaka (Noyes), son-in-law Robert Tomaka, grandsons Joshua and Nicholas Tomaka, brother Thomas Noyes, sister-in-law Cynthia Noyes; and nephews Todd Noyes and Michael Cerra, niece Andrea Noyes and their families; as well as other family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Philip Noyes and Joan Balkas (Smith), his son Arik Noyes, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Richard was born in Marlboro, Massachusetts March 15, 1948. He moved to New York where he graduated from Chenango Valley High School. Richard joined the US Army where he proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1968-1969 in the 299th Battalion Company A as a combat engineer. He belonged to the Brotherhood of Dak To Defenders, earning the Award of the Valorous Unit, as well as the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze service stars, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with 1960 Device, and 2 Overseas Service Bars. Richard was employed by the Contel Telephone Company for many years. He was a member of the Organization of Vietnam Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He also belonged to New York Bowhunters, Inc. and Mountain Trail Bowhunters, where he taught bowhunter safety courses. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and archery.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 17th at 10:30 am at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday December 17 at the Allen Memorial Home from 9:30 am until service time at 10:30 .
