Richard A. Williams slid into home plate for the last time on Saturday, August, 13, 2016. He Died with the good Lord’s hand on his shoulder, and family by his side. He suffered from lung cancer for several months. No more pain. Dick was predeceased by his adopted parents, Kenneth and Florence Williams. Also predeceased by his daughter Ginger Williams. Dick Worked thirty-five years for IBM, Loral and Lockheed Martin. He’s a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. His favorite pastimes were baseball and Nascar. He was a die-hard fan of the NY Mets and Jeff Gordon. One of Dick’s biggest thrills in baseball was when he was selected for the NY State All Star Team his Junior year in High School, and playing on Double Day Field in Cooperstown, NY. His biggest Nascar thrill was being present at the last Daytona race on the Beach, and then the first race at the new Daytona track. Dick is survived by his wife, and love of his life, Evelyn Jeanette. Although they met late in life, both had a lifetime of shared memories. Where you found one, you found the other. He is also survived by his sons, and daughter in-law; Ken Williams of Endicott, NY and Vern and Jennifer Williams of Rochester, NY; his grandchildren Lauren and Travis Williams, many nieces and nephews. Dick is also survived by the best second family a step-father could ask for: Ramona and David Looney, Keith and Gina Lane, Jon and Karen Lane, Brandee Lamkin, Joe Mellentine. And Special mention to lifelong friends Michael “Chunk” Chernak and Katie Ketrick. In keeping with Richard’s wishes, there will be no services planned at this time.
