Robert “Bob” Brady

d. January 14, 2022

After a full and blessed life of over 96 years, Robert A. “Bob” Brady passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14th, 2022. Bob is survived by his children; Robert O. Brady, MaryLu and Scott Coyle, Anne Brady, and Beth and Filippo Muggeo. He was a beloved Grandpa to Robert and Lisa Coyle, Meghan Coyle, Michael Coyle, Kristen Coyle, Grace Muggeo, Stephanie Muggeo, and Christopher Muggeo. He cherished his newest role as Great Grandpa to Cecelia Coyle. In addition, Bob enjoyed the times spent with his Great Grand dog, Stella, who always made him smile. Bob was greeted in heaven by his loving wife Mary, his parents Lucia and Oreste Brady, his sisters Eladia and Beatrice Legnini, and many special family members and friends who predeceased him.
Bob was a proud graduate of Union Endicott High School, class of 1943. He entered the United States Navy in 1944, proudly serving his country on the USS Astoria. He fought in the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa in World War II. After his discharge from the service, he embarked on a 38-year career at IBM, where he made many lifelong friends.
Bob was married to Mary Healy in 1955, sharing over 50 years of marriage, before her death in 2013. Together they raised their family in Endwell, NY. In 2010, Mary and Bob moved to Good Shepherd Village in Endwell where they participated in various activities and were blessed to make many new friendships that they cherished. Three years ago, Bob made the decision to take on a new adventure and relocate to Tennessee to live with MaryLu and Scott and their family. He was very happy making additional treasured memories with his family, meeting new people, enjoying the sunny weather, and living out this new chapter of his life down South. Our family expresses our deepest appreciation and gratitude to our sister, MaryLu, who continuously and compassionately provided for Dad’s needs.
Bob’s Catholic faith, family, and friends were most important to him. He attended daily mass, led the daily rosary group, and remembered everyone in his daily prayers. Bob loved to host family and friends throughout the years where everyone in attendance was provided an abundance of food and fun. Bob was a people person, always wearing a smile on his face. He was fun loving, had a great sense of humor, and was always quick with a joke. He had an outgoing personality, complimented others often, and had a boisterous laugh. He loved spending time with all his grandchildren, including attending their school activities and sporting events, throughout the years. He was everyone’s favorite grandpa, Uncle Bob, boss, colleague, and friend. Everyone who crossed his path has treasured memories of their time spent with him. Bob was a movie and music buff, enjoying all the classics, and often winning trivia contests with his knowledge. His favorite past times included watching game shows, murder mysteries, and the NY Yankees. He loved Wii bowling, and proudly played on The Village People team at Good Shepherd. Bob’s favorite daily activities were taking long naps and eating. He truly enjoyed all foods, but chocolate cake, ice cream, Reese’s peanut butter cups, and any and all desserts were daily favorites.
Bob was richly blessed with a long and healthy life. One of his favorite songs was “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. When you listen to this song, imagine Bob smiling down from heaven in thanksgiving for a life well-lived.
