Robert Briggs

Robert L. Briggs, 86, of Endicott, NY, passed away at Lourdes Hospital Friday, July 3, 2015 after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jean M. (Brown) Briggs; his five children, Judy L. (Michael) Knight of Largo, FL, Paul R. Briggs and E. Miriam Satossky of Mechanicsburg, PA, Joan M. (Mark) Bowers of Binghamton, NY, Carol R. (David) Brunick of Middlebury, CT, and John R. Briggs of Tempe, AZ; 12 grandchildren, Paul, Christian, Sarah, Amy, Christopher, Joshua, Rachel, Lindsey, Emily, Alexa, Evan, and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Abigail; siblings, Helga (Robert) Larson, Marilyn (Richard) Evans, Ralph B. Briggs, and Lee E. (Pamela) Briggs; also many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents, Ralph M. and Helen B. Briggs; brothers, Calvin (Dorothy) Briggs and Marshall (Helen) Briggs; sisters, Adelaide (Ralph) Winters, Elaine (Ralph) Doty, and Caroline (Lester) Marsh; and sister-in-law, Beverly J. Briggs. Robert was a 33-year employee of IBM Corporation, retiring in 1984. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, as well as an ardent student of the Word of God, and was passionate about sharing his faith and love for the Lord Jesus Christ with others. Services will be held Wednesday 6 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Wednesday from 4 pm until service time at 6 pm.
