Robert F. “Bob” Carbrey, 96, of Endwell, NY passed away peacefully on February 3, 2022. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lula Carbrey, and his sister, Helen Hardy. Bob is survived by the love of his life for almost 75 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Wall) Carbrey, his son Bob Carbrey (Marie), his daughter Carol Knapp (Mark). He had four grandchildren, Todd Carbrey (Meredith), Craig Carbrey (Jennifer), Lindsay Wells (Jarred) and Robbie Knapp (Olivia). He was also blessed with five great grandchildren: Hugh Carbrey, Ella Carbrey, Hollis Carbrey, Benson Wells andDeagan Wells, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated from North High School, and attended Hamilton College. He founded Valley Design in Johnson City, NY with branches in Harrisburg, PA, Raleigh NC and Boca Raton, FL. He owned and operated Valley Crafts Kitchens in Johnson City, NY for 40 years. In addition, he was President of Kitchens by Carder in Southern Pines, NC.
Bob was an avid golfer and member of the Binghamton Country Club for over 65 years. He loved his cottage and fishing at Lake Bonaparte in upstate NY, walks in the woods and looking for golf balls with Boots, his trusty Yorkie. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was a hard worker and provider for his family, and a kind, caring, selfless and respectful man. Bob always put others before himself and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to express special gratitude to the Nurses, Doctors and Staff at UHS, Wilson North Tower3, Palliative Care and Management Care. Also, gratitude to the compassionate team at The Mercy House, Endicott NY.
