Robert T. (Tim) Columbia of Endicott, NY. Tim was born on May 4th, 1957, in Rockville Center, Long Island. Before age 1 the family moved to Endicott, where he became a lifelong resident. Tim passed away in the loving care of his family on April 30th, 2021, after a difficult battle with cancer. He faced his illness with an unwavering positive outlook and astonishing strength of character.
Tim was predeceased by his mother, Ruth M. Columbia (nee Laughlin), and his father, Paul F. Columbia.
Tim is survived by the love of his life, Carolyn Pierce; siblings Lee (Craig) Johnson of Brentwood, TN; Richard (Nancy) Columbia of Pensacola, FL; Paul (Katherine) Columbia of Greenville, SC; Penny (Dennis) Mastronardi of Endicott, NY; Mike (Nicole) Columbia of Endicott NY; and Tom (Gail) Columbia of Hillsborough NJ; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat Judy.
Tim was an avid fan of motorcycle riding and racing. He also spent a lot of time cruising the Caribbean Sea, living his life to the fullest. He was a member and officer in ABATE, a motorcycle safety organization. Tim served as a member and chairman of the Endicott Zoning Board of Appeals. He had a quick wit and a love for trivia and esoteric history. He was also known to many as a caring individual who often helped people in need, whether it was a problem with their home, or a fellow motorcyclist. He will always be remembered foremost for his kindness.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in his honor to a local food pantry, the American Red Cross, or a charity of your choice.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 12 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1 Aquinas Street, Binghamton. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11 am.
