Robert Thomas Guilfoyle, 78, of Endicott, died at Ideal Senior Living Center Wednesday, January 1, 2014 after a long illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Ward Francis Guilfoyle and Catherine Mary Reardon Guilfoyle; sister-in-law, Bonnie Guilfoyle, two brothers-in-law, James Gibbs and Bobby Brown. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Catherine Brown Guilfoyle; daughters, Kathleen (Kevin) Wood of Vestal, and Kelli (Joseph) Quigley of Binghamton; son, Robert W. (Nicki) Guilfoyle of Binghamton; grandchildren, Margaret Wood, Mary Kathryn Quigley, Ryan Guilfoyle, and Kaylea Guilfoyle; sister, Mary Anne Gibbs; brothers, Jack (Maude) Guilfoyle and David Guilfoyle; sister-in-law, Pat Brown, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and a retired payroll specialist of Broome-Tioga BOCES. He served in the United States Navy as a radar man. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club of Endicott, was a longtime member and past Commander of American Legion Post 1700 and was a member of the VFW.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Sunday from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Bob’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.
