February 28, 1944 — February 8, 2025

Robert Francis Osbahr, 80, of Vestal NY passed away peacefully at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City NY on February 8th 2025. He was pre-deceased by his parents Theodore W. Osbahr Jr. and Mary Agnes (Weaver) Osbahr and his brothers Rev Theodore W. Osbahr III and John Michael Osbahr.
Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jaclyn (Miele) Osbahr; brother Richard (Janet) of Seminole FL and sister Mary (John) Jones of Largo FL; sons Theodore (Teresa) of Vestal NY and Robert (Courtney) of Cicero NY; and many Nieces/Nephews and their families. He also leaves behind his greatest love, his grandchildren, Theo and Robbie.
Bob attended St. Joseph in Roselle NJ, St. Benedict's in Newark NJ, and Villanova University PA. He graduated with a bachelors in Mathematics.
Bob had a remarkable sense of humor, his quick wit and sharp sarcasm were a highlight of any gathering, bringing smiles and laughter to all. But beyond his humor, Bob was a pillar of love and strength for his family. As a husband, he was unwavering in his devotion, always there for his wife through thick and thin. As a father, brother, and grandfather, his love and support knew no bounds. He was a guiding force and inspiration, offering wisdom and unwavering support. Bob's bond with his grandsons was truly special. There was a light in his eyes whenever he was with them or spoke of them. He adored them deeply and cherished every moment spent with them, sharing his love and laughter. His presence was a gift to all who knew him, and he leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories that will live on through his sons and grandsons, who carry forward the values he so generously shared.
Bob started his career at IBM Owego NY in 1967. He did operational programming at the start of his career and finished with architecture design work on electronic surveillance systems at the end. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2012 after 45 years of dedicated service.
After retiring, Bob and his wife made a tradition of cross-country road trips, with a special fondness for the scenic beauty of the western United States and its beautiful National Parks. They spent many trips exploring the region, but the Grand Teton National Park held a special place in his heart. The expansive wilderness and quiet solace of nature were a source of peace and awe, making each visit a memorable adventure while creating lasting memories with his wife.
In the summer, Bob and his wife retreated to the Jersey Shore, where they found peace and relaxation in the island community, beach, and ocean. Bob especially loved walking along the beach, feeling the warmth of the sun in the fresh ocean air. The shore was more than just a getaway, it was a special place to spend time with family. Whether it was having a home cooked fish dinner, enjoying ice cream at Skipper Dipper, or simply watching the gorgeous sunsets the bay had to offer. It was a place for family to come together, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company, making memories that would last forever.
Bob took great pride in tending to his garden, a passion that brought him both peace and satisfaction. Gardening wasn’t just a hobby it was a quiet retreat that allowed him to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Bob found a sense of accomplishment in every corner of his garden spending countless hours planting, pruning, and nurturing his flowers and vegetables.
But some of his happiest moments came from spending time with his grandchildren. Bob loved every moment spent with them, whether it was a school function, taking them to the zoo or playground, or just a simple family gathering. Watching them grow, cheering them on, and sharing in their milestones brought him immense joy. These moments with his grandkids were among the highlights of his later years,
