Robert Blanford Thomas went to the Lord on February 3, 2017. He was born on November 13, 1925 in Waymart, PA. He graduated from Waymart High School, Holy Cross College, Middlebury College and obtained his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Virginia. He served as a Lt. Cmdr. in the U. S. Naval Reserves. He was the founder of Thomas, Collison and Meagher. He served the community in numerous leadership positions including president of the Broome County Bar Association, attorney for the Town of Union, board member of Bank of New York, United Way, American Red Cross Southern Tier Chapter, Boys and Girls Club-Western Broome, Good Shepherd Fairview Home, United Health Services, Endicott Rotary Club and Riverhurst Cemetery. He was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Endicott serving as an elder and a choir member. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Alida and also by their daughter, Brenda, who died in infancy. He is survived by children Robert, Jeffrey and Margaret and grandchildren Galen, Jared, Grace, Colleen, Jamison, John, Daniel and Olivia and great grandsons Landon, Cameron, Dorien and Elijah.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 10 am at First Presbyterian Church, 29 Grant Avenue, Endicott, with Reverends Tim and Jan Devine, Pastors of his church officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Tuesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers please give a financial donation to Boys and Girls Club-Western Broome, 1 Club House Rd. Endicott, NY 13760.
